Why Women Need Community More Than Ever
We live in the most connected generation in history.
And somehow…
Many women have never felt more alone.
We can message someone across the world in seconds.
We can scroll through thousands of photos every day.
We can watch people share every detail of their lives online.
Yet so many women quietly find themselves asking the same question:
“Why does this still feel lonely?”
I don’t think the answer is that we’re missing social media.
I think we’re missing community.
Real conversations.
Real relationships.
Real people.
The kind of people who celebrate your wins, sit with you through uncertainty, and remind you that you don’t have to navigate life alone.
Because the truth is…
Some chapters of life are incredibly difficult to walk through by yourself.
Motherhood Can Be Surprisingly Lonely
Before becoming a mom, I imagined the sleepless nights. The diapers. The milestones. The laughter.
What I didn’t expect was how much motherhood would change my social life.
Suddenly, spontaneous dinners became scheduled weeks in advance. Conversations revolved around kids, and some friendships naturally shifted.
Others became harder to maintain simply because life looked different.
And while motherhood has been one of the greatest joys of my life, it has also been one of the biggest identity shifts I’ve ever experienced.
There were moments when I found myself wondering:
Who am I outside of being a mom?
What do I enjoy now? What are my hobbies now?
What are the next 10 years of my life going to look like?
Would I ever go on vacation again?
What kind of life do I want to build for my family?
These aren’t questions people always prepare you for.
Entrepreneurship Can Feel Just As Isolating
Starting something new is exciting. It’s also incredibly lonely. Most people see the highlights.
The successful launch. The successful and massive event. The exciting announcements. The smiling photos.
What they don’t see are the moments in between. The self-doubt. The ideas that don’t work.
The voice inside your head asking if you’re making the right decision.
Building a business often means becoming the marketer, customer service representative, accountant, photographer, content creator, salesperson, and CEO all at once.
There isn’t always someone to ask.
Sometimes you’re simply figuring it out as you go.
That’s why having people around you who understand the journey matters so much.
Not because they have all the answers.
Because they remind you you’re not the only one asking the questions.
Starting Over in a New City
A few years ago, my husband and I made the decision to move to the Austin area.
Like many life transitions, it was exciting.
And uncomfortable.
Leaving behind familiar places is one thing.
Leaving behind familiar people is something entirely different.
When you’re an adult, making friends looks very different than it did in school.
There isn’t a classroom introducing everyone on the first day.
You have to intentionally put yourself out there.
Attend events.
Start conversations.
Reach out first.
Show up even when it feels uncomfortable.
I’ll be honest.
There were moments when I wondered if everyone already had their people.
If I was the only one trying to build new friendships.
Then I started talking to more women.
And I realized something surprising.
Almost everyone was feeling the same way.
They just weren’t saying it out loud.
We Weren't Designed to Do Life Alone
One of the most beautiful things I’ve learned over the past few years is that women are incredibly powerful when they come together.
Not because we’re all the same.
Because we’re all different.
One woman has experience in business.
Another understands motherhood.
Someone else is navigating wellness.
Someone else has already walked through the chapter you’re entering.
We don’t need everyone to have identical stories
We simply need spaces where those stories can be shared.
Because sometimes one conversation changes everything.
Women Supporting Women Isn't Just a Trend
It’s easy to think of the phrase “women supporting women” as something we see on social media.
But I think it’s much deeper than that.
Supporting another woman doesn’t always mean buying her product.
Sometimes it means:
Sharing an opportunity.
Making an introduction.
Encouraging her to keep going.
Listening without trying to fix everything.
Celebrating her success without comparing it to your own.
Showing up.
Community isn’t built through perfection.
It’s built through consistency.
Through kindness.
Through choosing collaboration over competition.
Networking Doesn't Have to Feel Transactional
For a long time, I thought networking meant collecting business cards and giving elevator pitches.
Now I see it differently.
Networking is simply building genuine relationships.
It’s meeting people before you need something from them.
It’s learning their story.
It’s celebrating what they’re building.
It’s asking, “How can I help?”
The strongest communities aren’t built on transactions.
They’re built on trust.
That’s the kind of networking I believe in.
The kind where friendships naturally become collaborations.
Where referrals happen because relationships already exist.
Where people genuinely want to see one another succeed.
Social Media Gave Us Reach
Community Gives Us Belonging
I love social media.
It has introduced me to incredible people.
It’s opened doors I never imagined.
But somewhere along the way, I realized something.
I wasn’t looking for more followers.
I was looking for my people.
Women I could laugh with.
Learn from.
Collaborate with.
Encourage.
Meet for coffee.
Attend wellness events with.
Celebrate wins together.
Support through hard seasons.
Followers are wonderful.
Community is transformational.
That's Why I Started Building Community
When I first started hosting wellness events and reaching out to women in Austin, I wasn’t trying to create another networking group.
I wanted to create something I wished existed.
A place where women could show up exactly as they are.
Whether you’re:
Building a business.
Exploring a career transition.
Navigating motherhood.
Prioritizing your wellness.
Growing your personal brand.
Or simply looking for genuine friendships.
You belong.
Because I truly believe every woman deserves a room where she feels welcomed before she’s accomplished anything.

The Most Meaningful Opportunities Often Begin With One Conversation
Some of the best opportunities in my life didn’t begin with a business plan.
They began with a conversation.
Someone introducing me to another person.
An invitation to coffee.
A local event.
A collaboration.
A simple message that said,
“Would you like to connect?”
You never know what one conversation might lead to.
A friendship.
A mentor.
A business idea.
A collaboration.
A new chapter.
That’s why I keep saying yes to conversations.
Because life changes in rooms where people are willing to connect.
The Kind of Community I'm Building
I’m not interested in creating another Facebook group where people only promote themselves.
I’m interested in building something much more meaningful.
A community where women can:
Ask questions without judgment.
Celebrate wins together.
Learn from one another.
Share resources.
Attend local and virtual events.
Collaborate on ideas.
Build friendships.
Support one another through every chapter of life.
Because success feels so much better when you don’t experience it alone.
Maybe You're Looking for Your People Too
If you’ve been craving deeper conversations…
If you’ve recently become a mom.
If you’ve moved to a new city.
If you’re building something new.
If you’ve been wondering where your people are…
I want you to know you’re not alone.
Sometimes the first step toward finding community is simply deciding to show up.
One conversation.
One event.
One introduction.
One hello.
That’s often where everything begins.
